Bolton West Crime Survey

I know that crime and anti-social behaviour has a huge impact on our community. That is why ensuring residents feel safe and secure in their homes and on our streets is one of my top priorities.

After years of failing local leadership which led to the Home Secretary putting the force into special measures, the tide is now turning at Greater Manchester Police. The new Chief of Police has made it clear that the culture of low expectations and leaving crime not investigated will end. The government has also increased funding to GMP, with 1,280 more police officers on our streets since September 2019.

Across Bolton, we have seen an increase of over 700 arrests in the last twelve months, compared to the previous twelve months and a welcome return to community policing, with dedicated teams of police officers patrolling neighbourhoods across the constituency.

Chris Green MPs pothole patrol

Many local residents get in touch from across the constituency to say that the condition of local roads is not good enough.

Between 2019 – 2023, Bolton Conservatives prioritised repairing roads across the whole Borough with 400 additional roads resurfaced – which equated to 9.4 miles of new road surface. Prior to this, under the previous Labour administration, the Council only resurfaced 880 yards of road in one year.

Today, I am launching my Pothole Patrol, calling for more action to be taken to fix our local roads. Please do take a couple of minutes to let me know your views by filling in the survey here:

Hulton Park Survey

I know that the proposed development of Hulton Park is concerning to many local residents.

Plans were first put forward in 2018 to develop Hulton Park, with proposals including a golf course, hotel and over 1,000 new houses. These plans have been approved by Bolton Council with the support of Labour councillors, subject to Hulton Park being awarded the Ryder Cup – with a decision expected later this year.

I spoke against the plans at the Planning Inquiry, however, I would be interested to hear your views on this.

Chris Green MP's Health Survey

Access to healthcare is one of the main things that constituents raise with me.

We have made progress by securing a new Health Hub for Horwich, however, I know that more needs to be done to improve access to GPs across Bolton West.

Please take a moment to fill in my survey and let me know your thoughts on our local healthcare.

Bolton West Green Spaces Survey

Housing and planning is always one of the most contentious topics. There is demand for affordable houses, a desire to protect our local greenspaces and the need to get the right infrastructure.

Too often, Bolton Council have not got the balance right and I have worked with residents to oppose developments at Bowlands Hey in Westhoughton, Hulton Park, Horwich Golf Course and on Captains Clough playing fields in Smithills. There is a need for new housing but not at the expense of our green spaces and this is why I have always championed a brown field first approach.

Please do let me know your thoughts on protecting our green spaces by filling in the below survey:
